The software ORIGIN is used for the analysis and graphical presentation of data obtained from experiments in the physics laboratory course. ORIGIN versions 8G (SR6) and 2016 for Windows are available for all members of faculty V of the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg through a faculty license. Running Origin on MAC computers is possible using a suitable virtualization software. Other operating systems are not supported.

ORIGIN 8G (SR6) is installed on every computer in the introductory physics laboratory course, as well as in the CIP-room of the Institute of Physics.

In order to use the software on a private computer, it is necessary to perform a local installation. Installation instructions and the installation source can be downloaded via the IT-Service of the University of Oldenburg.
