The different orientations of the RTGs, ranging from theoretical to applied computer science, suggest the central theme "Interdisciplinary scientific working principles" for 2014 Dagstuhl workshop. The workshop will address essential elements of scientific work in various formats. This includes the presentation of the PhD student's academic work in a fast-forward session, an oral presentation and an optional poster. In addition, cross-thematic seminars will be offered, in which participants will work in an interdisciplinary team, combining their expertise to develop and present a common project. Furthermore, invited talks will address various challenges of the scientific career.
Beside technical expertise, the aspects of networking and interdisciplinarity are essential components for a successful promotion. The unique setting at Schloss Dagstuhl offers a unique platform to further develop these aspects.
