Description
The course aims to equip students with the mindset, knowledge and tools to translate psychological and neuroscience research into impactful real-world applications. Students will learn how to identify promising research findings, explore user and market needs, and prototype evidence-based interventions, products, or startups and bridge the gap between theory and practice.
The course emphasises hands-on exercises and human-centred design to help researchers turn insights into solutions for societal, clinical, and technological challenges.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
Analyse and frame human-centred problems that can be addressed through psychological or neuroscience insights.
Evaluate and select psychological and neuroscience findings for their translational potential.
Plan and carry out user research and assess early-stage validation data.
Design and present low-fidelity prototypes of applications or interventions.
Develop and justify sustainable business or impact models based on scientific concepts.
Communicate and adapt research-driven ideas effectively to diverse professional and public audiences.
Critically assess and articulate the ethical and societal implications of psychological translation.
