Strengthening doctoral studies – PhD Study Programme at the ICBM
PhD students at the ICBM contribute substantially to the scientific work and are important pillars of the research. Their education is therefore particularly important. Suitable offers are devised based on regular assessments of the students’ needs in doctoral colloquia, questionnaires or during face-to-face conversations. Students can choose from a number of offers during the different phases of their doctoral studies. The students’ prospects after having completed their degree are also considered. As a first step, you should enrol as PhD student at Oldenburg University and register for the PhD Study Programme. PhD students can choose from a multifaceted programme. Subject-specific courses and courses related to the students’ subject are offered in addition to interdisciplinary courses that aim at strengthening key competences, such as communication and presentation skills as well as handling of conflicts. In general, the courses are free of charge for students enrolled in the PhD Study Programme “Environmental Sciences and Biodiversity”.
Students may also take advantage of the offers by the Graduate School „Science, Medicine and Technology“ and the Graduate Academy of the University of Oldenburg.
Responsible for the organisation and coordination of the PhD Study Programme „Environmental Sciences and Biodiversity“ as well as the Research Training Group of the SFB TRR-51 „Roseobacter“ is Dr Ferdinand Esser (phone: +49 (0)441 - 798 3171).
