The interdisciplinary REENEA team combines competencies from the disciplines of sociology, political science, economics and economical geography. The interests and experiences of the four researchers form a broad spectrum of innovation and transition research. Special focus is given to the dynamics of energy transitions, the role of actors and institutions in transition processes, to regional and international comparative (policy) research as well as to the governance of the energy transition in the multi-level system. Based on this, the REENEA team around Professor Jannika Mattes examines the energy transition in six German regions and develops explanatory approaches for its dynamics and interaction processes.
