Going abroad

Student mobility

School VI currently has 11 Erasmus+ partnerships with 10 universities across Europe in the fields of psychology, neurosciences and human medicine, which enable students to spend one or two semesters abroad (with funding). For more information on how to apply, please contact the departmental coordinators responsible for allocating places.

You can also contact the International Office (IO) for more information about studying at a partner university abroad and about additional funding opportunities.

More detailed information about the exchange programme with the University of Groningen as part of the degree programme in Human Medicine can be found here.

Internships abroad

Various funding is available to help students finance an internship abroad. More information about this can be found on the International Office (IO) website.

Mobility in science and teaching

The School’s teaching staff and researchers also have the opportunity to spend time teaching or researching abroad (with funding). To organise such a stay abroad, existing partnerships entered into by your institution or as part of your research activities are a good starting point.

For more information about funding options for a research stay or teaching assignment abroad, please contact the International Office (IO).

Twice a year, you can also apply for travel grants through the OLTECH Graduate School to participate in international conferences, etc.

Binational doctoral programme

The binational doctoral programme, the Oldenburg-Groningen Joint Graduate Research Training Group “Translational Research: From Pathological Mechanisms to Therapy”, which was launched in 2017, is dedicated to the topic of translational research from a cross-border perspective and enables students to obtain a joint degree. Under certain circumstances, it is still possible to be affiliated to the programme.

Stays abroad as part of other doctoral programmes can be arranged on an individual basis after consultation with the respective supervisors.
