Certification programme for international students
INSTEP allows you to take part in courses for international students which will help you find your feet at the university and study successfully. Once you have completed the course, you will receive a certificate that can help make your applications stand out.
Taking part
Select at least three courses for international students you would like to participate in. Sign up for the selected courses directly (usually via StudIP).
After completing your courses, request your certificate via the website (see left).
You must have taken courses from at least three of the following key areas:
- Language courses
- Workshops on scientific work and writing or on professional qualification
- Social or cultural activities
- Intercultural training
Language courses
Attend one or more language courses alongside your studies. The Language Centre offers:
- German for Internationals
- English
- Spanish
- French
- Russian
- Chinese
- and much more
Academic & professional skills
Attend events organised by the Study and Career Counselling Service.
The ZSKB Learning Workshops offer workshops on the following topics:
- Scientific work
- Academic writing
- Studying
The career counselling organises events on all aspects of academic appointments and your professional future.
Social or cultural involvement
Get involved with other international students. The International Office offers many opportunities:
- Have a stand at the summer festival!
- Be a local buddy for newcomers!
- Offer your own event in the IKT!
- Take part in the module "Orientation PLUS" and accompany international students!
