The quality of teaching can be assessed in different ways. In the Department for Study Affairs, quality management and evaluation (internal surveys, external surveys) are important elements of quality assurance and development. The Association of North German Universities advises the University of Oldenburg on evaluation and quality standards in the area of teaching and learning.

In addition, elementary tasks of the Department for Study Affairs are the establishment and modification of degree programmes as well as the process coordination of changes to the corresponding regulations (admission, admission and examination regulations).
