Dear students,

we are glad that you are interested in or have already opted for studies at the Institute of Physics at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg! We will do everything to facilitate the entry into your studies and look after your further progress. This is one of the strengths of physics education in Oldenburg, as repeatedly certified by the newspaper ZEIT and the CHE university ranking.

Please take some time to browse the Institute's website. You can thus get a good overview of the structure of studies in various programs, become acquainted with our research areas, find points of contact and much more. Good working knowledge of mathematics significantly helps you getting started with your studies. To improve or refresh your mathematical skills, we encourage you to participate in a two-week preparatory course mathematics offered prior to the start of the lecture period.

During the orientation week (06.10.-10.10.2025) a number of information and introductory courses are being offered. The dates and rooms are listed below.
