Short Bio
I did my bachelor in Social Sciences at the University of Oldenburg (2012-2015). In 2014 I have spent an exchange semester in Sweden, Stockholm. During that time I have become increasingly interested in the European Union and environmental policies. In September 2015, I decided to pursue for the double master degree Water and Coastal Management (M.Sc.) at the University of Oldenburg and Environmental and Infrastructure Planning (M.Sc.) at the University of Groningen.
Besides my master studies, I worked as an academic assistant for Prof. Dr. Ingo Mose at the Department of Applied Geography and Environmental Planning at the University of Oldenburg. Additionally, I gained interesting practical insights during an internship at the Flood Risk Management Department at Senator of Environment, Construction and Transportation in the city of Bremen.
After completing both master programs in December 2017, I received a Ph.D. position in January 2018 at the University of Oldenburg. My Ph.D. focuses on the European Commission and the practical implementation of environmental EU policy.
Research and Teaching Interests
My research focuses on environmental EU policies and arising difficulties linked to their implementation. Next to working on my Ph.D. thesis, I enjoy teaching as a guest lecturer on e.g. EU public policy, EU integration and policy implementation research.
