Prof Dr Babette Simon, President of the University, has been appointed to the University/Business Working Group of the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA), the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and the German Rectors' Conference (HRK).
Simon will represent the HRK in the working group in future. The joint university/industry working group regularly deals with topics at the interface between the higher education system and the labour market. Representatives from universities and industry exchange views on current higher education policy issues and formulate joint positions, for example on the Bologna Process and the acceptance of the new degrees on the labour market, dual study programmes, the internationalisation of universities and advanced scientific training.
Simon has been President of the University of Oldenburg since 2010. Among other things, she is a member of the Health Research Council of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and spokesperson for the Association of North German Universities
