The newly founded Scientific Advisory Board of the Didactic Centre (diz) has held its inaugural meeting at the university. The committee is based on a recommendation from the Scientific Commission of Lower Saxony, which evaluated the diz in 2011.
The spokesperson of the advisory board is Dortmund chemistry didactics expert Prof Dr Bernd Ralle, his deputy is Prof Dr Detlev Leutner, learning psychologist at the University of Duisburg-Essen and Chair of the review group at the time. Other members of the advisory board are the Munich educational researcher Prof. Dr Manfred Prenzel, the Zurich educational scientist Prof. Dr Katharina Maag Merki, the Kiel educationalist Prof. Dr Olaf Köller and the literature didactics expert Prof. Dr Gerhard Rupp (University of Bochum).
The committee advises in particular on profile development in questions of research and the promotion of young talent. One of its aims is to develop a research strategy for educational research. The advisory board aims to further develop the strengths of Oldenburg's research, such as networking between the specialised sciences, didactics and educational sciences or the promotion of young researchers.
