People are familiar with the phenomenon of being overlooked. "You're too small, too young, too poor, too colourful, too old". The list could go on and on. In contrast, the Bible proclaims that God is a God who sees people (Genesis 16:13). As a sociologist, Michael Feldhaus works on the issue of children and young people being "left behind" in society. What effects do such "marginalisations" have on the young people concerned and what does this mean for our democratic society?
