Description
Participants achieve basic knowledge about acoustic measurements and calibration, related standards and operation of typical laboratory equipment.
Course contents:
- Basics of calibration and audio equipment in the lab
- Usage of measurement amplifiers and artificial ears
- Pure tone audiometry and audiometry standards
- Calibration in the open Master Hearing Aid (openMHA) signal processing software and Oldenburg Measurement Applications (OMA)
- Free-field calibration and speech audiometry
- Calibration in VR
- Control and usage of audio interfaces
- Pitfalls in the lab
- Different hands-on tutorial lectures
At the end of the course. students are able to
- name and explain different decibels,
- describe the definitions for audiometric calibration in standards,
- list calibration pitfalls on different technical levels,
- operate typical calibration equipment and audio interfaces,
