»Wir sind UNIwegs!« Photo contest 2024

Whether travelling from the countryside or the city, by motor or muscle power, alone or in company - the daily journey to the university is as diverse and multifaceted as its many students and employees.

Since around a fifth of our university's greenhouse gas emissions are attributable to everyday mobility, how climate-friendly our respective forms of mobility are also plays a decisive role. It is high time to focus on the diversity of our travelling - or to be more precise: the flashlight.

We invite you: Show us in a photo what moves you on your way to university.

We look forward to your photos!

The conditions of participation apply.

The closing date for entries is Wednesday, 22 May 2024, 23:59.

Photo categories

The photos can be entered in the following three categories via the registration form:

  • Connected: Mobility connects.
  • Traffic: Challenges of mobility.
  • On the move: Mobile in everyday life.

Prizes & winnings

An exhibition with a selection of the submitted photos will be opened on 26 June 2024 at The Smart House Oldenburg. A jury will also award prizes to the three best photos in each category. In addition to the prize money, there will be a surprise from the Unishop on top.

  • 1st prize: 100 euros + surprise
  • 2nd prize: 75 euros + surprise
  • 3rd prize: 50 euros + surprise

Who can take part?

The conditions of participation apply.

Procedure and dates

Phase 1- Upload photos

  • The photos submitted should not be older than one year. Each participant can submit one photo per category. The photos must be submitted by Wednesday, 22.05.2024, 23:59 via the registration form by indicating a title.

Phase 2 jury evaluation

  • The photos will be presented to an independent jury in anonymised form. They will determine the best photos based on the relevance, quality and creativity of the content. Three pictures per category will be honoured. Further images will be selected for the exhibition. The authors of the award-winning photos will be informed by email.

Phase 3- Award ceremony and exhibition

  • The award ceremony will take place on 26 June 2024 at the „Schlaues Haus” Oldenburg. The pictures will then be presented there for seven weeks in an exhibition.
