»Wir sind UNIwegs!« Photo contest 2024
Under the motto “Wir sind UNIwegs”, all students and employees of the university were invited to take part in the photo competition from April 29 to May 22, 2024 as part of the university's 50th birthday celebrations. The competition encouraged people to take a creative look at mobility options and their own mobility behavior. Participants had three categories to choose from: “Networked: Mobility connects”, ”Traffic: Challenges of mobility” and "On the move: Mobile in everyday life” to choose from. From the 81 photographs submitted, the jury selected 15 entries, which will now be exhibited at various locations.
Exhibition at the Schlaues Haus Oldenburg
Selected photographs will be exhibited at building A14 at Haarentor campus until september 30. The exhibition can be visited Monday to Friday during opening hours. Admission is free.

2nd prize: 75 euros and a hip bag from the University of Oldenburg
3rd prize: 50 euros and a water bottle from the University of Oldenburg
How were the photos selected?
Three jury members viewed each photo. Various aspects were to be covered in an evaluation process that was as transparent and fair as possible: Choice of subject, technical realization, creativity. In the event of equal ratings, an open discussion took place in order to reach a consensual result.
The jury consisted of: Sabine Bley (lecturer at the Institute for Art and Visual Culture and master photographer), Anna Krämer (climate action manager) and Silke Rudolf (cross-media editor in the Press & Communications department).
