Participation

The participation of university members and other interest groups is a relevant component of climate protection and sustainability work at the University of Oldenburg. The climate protection management team offers specific opportunities for interested parties to get involved, such as the Green Team and the Sustainability Sounding Board.

Sustainability Sounding Board

Since the summer semester 2025, the Sustainability Sounding Board has been held once a semester at the UOL. Invitations are issued to the university public. In this board, the current and planned activities on the topic of sustainability at the University of Oldenburg are presented. In addition, topic-specific discussion impulses are offered and participants can ask questions and make suggestions in this context. Those interested in sustainability at the university can network and exchange ideas with each other. In this way, current or upcoming projects can be taken forward or new projects can be developed together.

Green Team

An increasing number of university members are interested in getting involved in specific sustainability projects on campus. In order to reach and involve these people in a targeted manner, the Climate Protection Management offers a so-called "Green Team". This is a non-binding mailing list whose subscribers are regularly contacted and invited to participate in smaller, tangible projects (e.g. providing nesting boxes on campus). In addition, the Green Team serves as a networking platform so that interested parties can find other supporters for their own projects and, if necessary, implement them independently. There is a direct link to climate protection management and financial support is possible via the sustainability program line. The Green Team is supervised by the Climate Protection Management.

Are you interested in being part of the Green Team? Send us an e-mail to klimaschutz@uol.de.

Climate Newsletter

The climate newsletter reports on sustainability activities at the University of Oldenburg in more or less regular sections in short format. In addition, the climate action management team provides information on events, reports on project progress or announces the start or completion of measures.
