Registration is required if you wish to borrow media.
As university member (students, faculty, staff) you may access all digital media and make use of our scan service without prior registration. To do so, you only need to authenticate using your university account (abcd1234 plus password).
Upon enrollment, all students receive the university's CampusCard that also functions a library card. To enable that function a one-time registration is required using your unicversity account (abcd1234 plus password). Following that, the CampusCard must be presented to the user service's staff for a final validation.
To pay library fees (e.g. interlibrary loan) and to be able to use the library's printers/copiers (currently) an additional cash card is needed. This can be purchased at a vending machine on level 1 in the main library on Campus Haarentor. The deposit of 5 Euros will be reimbursed upon return of the card.
Students already holding a library card simply continue using it. Presumably, from the winter semester 20/21 on, you will be able to use the CampusCard for book loans, payments of charges and/or fees and for the copiers/printers in the library.
Library cards are issued to new staff (MTV) and teaching staff of the university. This requires a one-time registration.
After the registration, your library card can be picked up at the user-services counter in the library Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
