Dear colleagues,

Like all universities, the University of Oldenburg faces competition - for example for students, highly qualified teachers and research funding. The university's external image plays an important role in this context: it should be memorable, unmistakable and contemporary, convey the university's culture and values and ensure recognisability. At the same time, there should be plenty of scope for individual and target group-orientated design that is also barrier-free. With this in mind, we have fundamentally revised the University's corporate design (CD).

The new CD manual sets out the future design guidelines and serves as the most important basis for the university's internal media designers in their work. It also provides a framework for all external designers working for the university. Last but not least, it is also intended to help members of the university who want to design materials themselves.

The information in the manual is binding in all cases. Please note that a revised version with many additional instructions has been available since January 2026. It is available for you to download from the university's administration portal:
