The Graduiertenkolleg "Aktivierung chemischer Bindungen"/Research Training Group "Chemical Bond Activation" is focused on the development of new methods for the selective activation of inert C-H bonds that are more economical and ecological than present approaches. Furthermore, we work on improving existing methods with regard to efficiency, selectivity, range of use and robustness.

The interdisciplinary research program unites researchers from the Chemistry Department and the Institute for Chemistry and Biology of the Marine Environment and includes the topics molecular and coordination chemistry, photochemistry, electrochemistry and biochemistry.
