Personal Introduction:
A couple of years back, some of us from PPRE established a think - & - do startup in India - Center for Sustainability, Policy & Technology Management (SusPoT). We have made a good progress with this startup organization so far, and hence thought of sharing some updates with the alumni network. Please find below a brief profile of SusPoT, along with some photos of mine and Karun.
Greetings! - Mitavachan
The Center for Sustainability, Policy & Technology Management (SusPoT) is a not-for-profit Think-&-Do Tank incorporated with a mission to assist decision makers, practitioners and civil society to develop and pursue inclusive transformative pathways towards sustainable societies. At present, SusPoT is active in two domains: (1) Energy Transition Policy Research – wherein SusPoT conducts multi-disciplinary system analytics based policy research to develop inclusive strategies for sustainable clean energy transition in India; (2) Ecological Farming – SusPoT promotes sustainable farming practices and develops community level ecological concoctions units which will supply organic concoction’s for pest management of crops at village level.
As a clean energy policy startup, SusPoT engages in the following activities: (1) Conduct series of integrated studies by combining multiple disciplines and generating comprehensive policy knowledge to assist decision makers in developing future pathways for India’s clean energy transition; (2) Multi-objective modeling & assessment of Indian energy transition pathways; (3) Conduct ground studies and field assessments to develop databases for clean energy policy research, especially capturing life cycle impacts of clean technologies.
SusPoT was incubated by the Clean Energy Lab 2018 - an initiative by Indian School of Business and Shakti Foundation, and it was India's first and only incubation program to support high potential ideas for creating research and evidence based large scale policy impact in clean energy space. At SusPoT, we are not only passionate in contributing towards the sustainability of the society through our work, but also equally strive to promote the sustainable work environment and lifestyles of the team. We strongly believe that the real change always starts from inside-out, and only the organizations built on sustainability principles can bring about a real change in the society.
