Leire Iriondo Fadrique
My name is Leire Iriondo Fadrique. I am Spanish and come from Bilbao in the north of Spain. I am 35 years old, married and mother of two wonderful children. At university I studied journalism. In France, I specialised in "European economic and political journalism". After almost a year in the European Parliament in Brussels, I realised that I wanted to reorient myself professionally in the long term. In the following years, I worked and lived in different countries; e.g. United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Great Britain. I finally found my calling in Japan and taught Spanish there for three years. I then returned to Spain and studied Spanish literature and foreign language didactics. During this Master's postgraduate study, I took part in a European trainee teacher exchange programme. The thoroughly positive experiences and insights into potential work and teaching opportunities eventually led me to Oldenburg. Here I married, had children and began teaching at the Carl von Ossietzky University through the Instituto Cervantes.
