March 2020

The Neuroimaging Unit successfully applied for a DFG Core Facility with the proposal about "Infrastructure for analyses and open data for securing reproducibility and data sharing in functional imaging" (DFG INST 184/216-1).

Neuroimaging Unit (Core Facility)

The Neuroimaging Unit at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg is part of the European Medical School Oldenburg-Groningen and is located in the newly built NeSSy, located at the campus Wechloy. Members of the Neuroimaging Center belong to the different disciplines such as psychology, medicine and physics and are part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Cluster of Excellence “Hearing4all” as well as the SFB/TRR 31 “The active auditory system”. The Neuroimaging Center houses a Siemens 3 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system as well as a magnetoencephalography (MEG) system, exclusively dedicated to research. These core facilities are financed via the European Medical School, the Cluster of Excellence as well as the German Research Foundation (DFG). Equipped with a MR compatible electroencephalography (EEG) system, different response pads, various systems for auditory stimulation and motion capturing we are able to investigate brain mechanisms involved in sensory, motor and cognitive functions.
