Dual-Subject Bachelor's Program

Programme content

In the two-subject Bachelor's programme, you combine social sciences with a second subject of your choice. This allows you to combine two subject perspectives and expand your individual profile. This opens up different subject profiles - both for extracurricular activities and for a career as a teacher.

At the beginning of the degree programme, you will learn the basics and theories of sociology and political science and gain a broad overview of the German and EU political system and the social structures of contemporary societies. This is followed by an introduction to methods of empirical social research, an overview of statistical procedures and methods and evaluation techniques of qualitative social research. At the same time, you will study a second subject that complements your social science profile and allows for individual specialisations.

There are numerous special sociology and political science specialisations available in the area of specialisation. If you have an extracurricular study goal, you can choose from these and give your degree programme an individual profile. Teacher training students specialise in the didactics of political education. The degree programme concludes with the Bachelor's thesis.
