Study Content

In civic education, students gain insights into basic theories, approaches, didactic principles and methods of political education. In order to ensure a good connection to the subject-specific content, the course is closely linked to the BA Social Sciences. In the study of Economic Education, students acquire the subject-specific scientific and didactic basics to be able to cope with the corresponding knowledge transfer processes and professional requirements in general education schools and in extracurricular areas.

In the area of social sciences, students receive an overview of the theories of political decision-making and behavior and the basics of political science. decision-making and behavior and the fundamentals of analytical political science. The emergence, functioning and interaction of political institutions are the focus of the module Political System Germany and the EU.

With regard to social structure analysis, you will acquire a broad overview of the determining factors of
of social inequality and thus of potential threats to social cohesion in Germany and Europe. You will become familiar with basic approaches of normative and positive political theory. They will learn about basic approaches of normative and positive political theory, establish references to current social developments and reflect on them critically.

In the field of economics, students should be able to grasp essential individual and macroeconomic issues as well as business management facts and place them in overarching contexts. The course of study is partly internet-based and alternates between classroom and online phases, which means that the course of study is flexible.

In addition to the internships, further practical contacts for the respective professional field are established with schools, companies, associations, administrations and foundations, for example through explorations, expert discussions and project work in seminars and / or lectures.
