After a profound introduction into methods of presentation of phase equilibrium as well as calculation of azeotropic points, distillation and residual graphs we will present several special rectifying techniques (azeotropic as well as extractive rectification, hybrid techniques, two-pressure techniques, etc.) for the separation of systems with an unfavourable separation factor or an azeotropic characteristics, respectively. The selection of discriminating additives by means of data bases and thermodynamic models will be extensively covered.
