M.Ed. Politics/Politics-Economics

Bachelor's Program

Study Contents

The program provides a broad overview of sociological and political science topics and theories as well as methodological skills. In addition to broad introductory and survey courses in sociology and political science, introductions to scientific work, quantitative and qualitative methods of empirical social research, and statistical procedures characterize the program. These introductory, survey and methods modules are flanked by introductions to political and sociological theories, organizational and micro-sociology, and international relations.

In the elective area, students can choose from a wide range of special sociologies and political science specializations and thus set their own accents in their studies. In teaching research, students work independently on a topic of their own choice in small groups under professional supervision. This allows students to acquire in-depth theoretical, analytical and methodological skills that enable them to understand social and political structures. The program is completed with an internship and a bachelor's thesis.
