We are interested in creating new nanoscale chemical and electrochemical technology to approach a broad spectrum of scientific and engineering problems, from efficient generation and storage of electrical energy (fuel cells and batteries) to understanding fundamentals of life at a single molecule level. In particular, we work on the development of advanced instrumental techniques that take advantage of nanoscale confinement for

• fabrication of nanostructured materials and nanoscale functional devices;
• sensing, detection and analysis with ultimate resolution and sensitivity
• chemical imaging at the scale of individual reactive units, such as individual molecules, single nanoparticles and reactive sites.
