Concept
University sports is initially a programme offered by the University of Oldenburg for its students and employees as well as members of the cooperating universities. However, non-university members can also take part in our programme, provided they are of legal age and have registered for a course or purchased a day pass or HSP ticket. Our focus is on recreational sport, where the fun of doing sport, an informal atmosphere and lots of new activities take centre stage. Our sports programme is designed to motivate everyone to get active. Especially those who perhaps thought of themselves as unathletic. Just like Horst, our mascot elephant, who you will meet here from time to time.
University sports wants to motivate everyone and give everyone the opportunity to be active. We therefore oppose all forms of discrimination and violence and see mutual appreciation and respectful co-operation as necessary prerequisites for everyone to be able to enjoy sport and exercise.
You can find more information about university sports on the following pages. Who can take part. How you can take part and which terms of use apply. But also about who is responsible for which tasks in our team and about our work to prevent sexualised violence and discrimination.
If you have any questions that are not answered here, please send us an email or give us a call. You can find our contact details on the left.
About us
Our focus is on recreational sports, where the fun of doing sports, an informal atmosphere and many new offers take centre stage.
Our strengths are the versatility of the sports programme and the large number of activities on offer, which gives you the opportunity to get to know and try out new sports. As many of the activities on offer can be used flexibly, they can be easily integrated into everyday study and work life. The proximity of the attractive sports facilities to work and study places and the favourable price/performance level also contribute to this. University staff and students can therefore ideally combine study/work and leisure. These groups can also take part in open programmes free of charge.
The planning and coordination of the programmes is the responsibility of sports scientists and sports students, who are also on hand to answer questions and provide individual advice.
