Against sexualised violence
Against sexualised violence
The University of Oldenburg's policy against sexualised discrimination and sexual violence states:
"Within its area of responsibility, the University assumes responsibility for ensuring that the right to sexual self-determination is respected and that personal rights as defined by the Basic Law are upheld."
University sports aims to motivate everyone and give everyone the opportunity to be active in sport. We therefore oppose all forms of discrimination and violence and see mutual appreciation and respectful cooperation as necessary prerequisites for everyone to be able to enjoy being active in sport.
University sports is a central meeting place at the university and offers a variety of opportunities for joint exercise activities. Physicality and emotionality are elementary components of sporting movement. They contribute to the fascination of sport and are encouraged by us.
At the same time, we are aware that physicality and emotionality in sport can also be misused as an occasion and opportunity for abusive behaviour and that closeness and distance are perceived individually and the limits of what is perceived as appropriate and pleasant vary greatly.
With our prevention work, we want to ensure that everyone actively contributes to creating a climate in which everyone can feel comfortable when playing university sports.
- We want to inform and sensitise.
- We want to encourage people to look and listen.
- We want to encourage and support people to actively combat discrimination and sexualised violence.
