As part of the anniversary celebrating 40 years of cooperation between RUG and UOL, Prof. Dr Ralf Grüttemeier organised the online workshop "Border Crossers 2.0: Discussion on Intensifying Cooperation in Dutch, German and Their Regional Variants".

Since October 2020, the following activities and projects have taken place:

• Joint research project and joint doctoral supervision
• Two online workshops
• A tandem project on "Germany in Europe" (German/German Studies) featuring a student exchange

Future outlook:

There is strong interest at the University of Oldenburg in establishing a double doctoral programme.
