Launched in 2002 as a joint degree programme between the Universities of Oldenburg, Bremen and Groningen, the Hanse Law School (HLS) was reaccredited in 2020. Hanse Law School students have so far had the status of visiting students at UG. Options for enrolling HLS students in a double Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme are being explored. The stated goal is to create a joint Bachelor’s degree “Comparative and European Law” and a joint Master’s degree “Transnational Law”.

Joint research in law and politics will be encouraged through joint seminars and workshops.
