Oldenburg. The biologist and head of the ICBM research group Biology of Geological Processes, Prof. Dr. Meinhard Simon, has recently been approved as Vice President for Research and Transfer at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.
During his vice presidency, Simon wants to identify and promote promising innovative projects, whether they are organized then in research associations or as a standalone project with the potential for future associations. Thus he wants to contribute to the ongoing efforts to advcance the frame conditions as well as research initiatives and projects of the Oldenburg scientists, who are successful in many scientific disciplines.
Simon will start his extraofficial mandate on 1 January 2018.
