Come to rest, recharge your batteries, pray or meditate: The Room of Silence offers everyone on campus a place to retreat from the sometimes hectic pace of university life. It is now located in building A04.

The room on the ground floor - room number 00-004 - has been newly furnished. Yoga mats, cushions and meditation benches create a cosy atmosphere. It is open on weekdays from 6:00 to 22:00.

As the name suggests, there is absolute silence in the room: no conversations, no rattling keyboards, no ringing or vibrating mobile phones. Instead, those seeking peace and quiet can put their feet up, relax, recharge their batteries, pray in silence, meditate or simply enjoy the silence.

There has been a "Room of Silence" at the university since 2002, originally set up in building A06 by the now emeritus psychologist Prof. Dr. Wilfried Belschner. In 2015, the room moved to the newly opened Student Service Centre (A12), and later to the Administration Building.
