15 art students had themselves photographed in everyday places on campus. The speciality: They have painted their bodies in such a way that they virtually merge with the background.

15 art students had themselves photographed in everyday places on campus. The speciality: They have painted their bodies in such a way that they virtually merge with the background.

The students were inspired by the Chinese photographer and performance artist Liu Bolin for their works, which were created at the Institute of Art and Visual Culture under the direction of photographer and lecturer Sabine Bley and can now be seen in an exhibition.

They began by exploring the theme of "visible/invisible" in theory before setting off in search of suitable locations on campus. The foyer of the lecture theatre centre, a printing workshop in the art wing, a climbing wall in the sports building and graffiti in the open-air hall ultimately served as the backdrop for their works on the everyday "disappearance" of the individual.

The exhibition "visible/invisible" can be seen until 30 June in the foyer of building A1-A4 (Haarentor campus, Uhlhornsweg 84). The building is open daily from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.
