School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences bids farewell to graduates
154 graduates of School V - School of Mathematics and Science were bid farewell at a ceremony at the University of Oldenburg on 31 January 2011. Biologist Prof. Dr Luise Giani presented the graduates of the Bachelor's, Master's and Diplom degree programmes as well as the doctoral candidates with their certificates, and Prof. Dr Thomas Kneib, Professor of Applied Statistics at the Institute of Mathematics, gave the keynote speech at the ceremony.
During the event, the following students received awards for their outstanding theses:Saskia Grunau (Bachelor's thesis, Institute of Physics), Jens Zahnow (PhD thesis, Institute of Biology and Environmental Sciences), Anna Ostendorp (Bachelor's thesis, Institute of Biology and Environmental Sciences), Julia Furche (Master's thesis, Institute of Mathematics) and Timo Stalling (Master's thesis, Institute of Pure and Applied Chemistry).
