Physicist Prof Dr Engel explains the moon to children

Hanover. With his lecture "Can you live on the moon?", Prof. Dr Andreas Engel from the "Static Physics" working group inspired a new generation of future researchers at the Ideenexpo in Hanover on 27 August.

The central questions of his lecture were "What is the moon?", "How can humans get there?" and "Can we live on the moon?". Using child-friendly examples and exciting experiments, the physicist illustrated how a rocket works and why it can get very uncomfortably cold on the moon.

The journey to the moon and the stay there was accompanied by short films of astronauts in weightlessness.
