M.Sc. Rebeca Ramirez Acosta (PPRE 2010-2012), from Panama, presented a Keynote lecture at the Energy System Stability 2040 and Beyond on the topic "Market Design and Systems Engineering for the National Energy Plan in Panama".

M.Sc. Rebeca Ramirez Acosta (PPRE 2010-2012), from Panama, presented a Keynote lecture at the Energy System Stability 2040 and Beyond on the topic "Market Design and Systems Engineering for the National Energy Plan in Panama".

Rebeca is currently a Ph.D. candidate from Oldenburg University in the topics of electricity markets and smart grids at OFFIS Informatic Institute. Currently, she is researching the flexibility of markets and its evaluation. Her research would also be useful for facilitating the Energy Transition Agenda in Panama.

During the event, Ms. Ramirez Acosta showed the country's potential and the need for market adaption to achieve the current strategies of distribution generation, electromobility and hydrogen goals that the country is implementing for 2030 and beyond.

Rebeca has recently published several papers. Among them are the topics of how to characterize different types of electricity markets for their subsequent adaptation by implementing morphological boxes and how to integrate neighborhood grids (smart grids) into distribution networks: a German perspective.
