Springschool is an event held yearly by Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon, DLR Institute of Maritime Energy Systems, DLR Institute of Networked Energy Systems and FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences (FHW). The target group of this event are PhD and Master students. 

The event of 2023 was held in Lauenburg/Elbe and was a scientific exchange on the subject of hydrogen related technologies and their applications – from generation of hydrogen and its derivatives over storage and distribution to end use. This event provided insights from the point of view of research as well as hydrogen related industries.

Two previous PPRE students of 2016/17 participated in Springschool 2023. Shaghayegh Kazemi from DLR Institute of Maritime Energy Systems gave a presentation about alternative future fuels for maritime sector, their import, supply and use onboard ships.
