4 years EU Erasmus+ Blueprint project: RESkills4NetZero

PPRE is part of the Renewable Energy Skills Partnership within a new EU Erasmus+ Blueprint project.

PPRE is part of the Renewable Energy Skills Partnership within a new EU Erasmus+ Blueprint project.

PPRE will support the Renewable Energy Skills Partnership activities together with 21 partners from 8 different countries (Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, Romania, Sweden, The Netherlands) in the 4-year Erasmus+ Blueprint project RESkills4NetZero, funded by the EU (Erasmus+ programme). A diverse consortium including training and education providers, industry associations, and workforce solutions companies addresses the growing skills gap in the renewable energy sector.

The primary objective of the initiative is to design and implement a sustainable skills blueprint for Europe’s renewable energy industry, and for this, it will:

  • Strengthen Partnerships: Establish a transnational consortium of stakeholders to collaboratively address skills gaps.
  • Create Training Programs: Design and deliver curricula tailored to high-demand roles, incorporating work-based learning and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Develop Certifications: Introduce EU-wide recognised certifications for renewable energy skills to enhance worker mobility and employability.
  • Promote Careers in Renewables: Launch campaigns targeting transitioning workers and underrepresented groups to attract them to renewable energy careers.
  • Ensure Long-term Impact: Align with EU policies such as the European Skills Agenda and the Pact for Skills to embed programs into broader strategic frameworks.

The project is coordinated by EIT Innoenergy, and the Steering Committee is composed of InnoEnergy, EUREC, SolarPower Europe, GCP Europe, Abodoo and Schuman Associates. PPRE will play an active role in several work packages, particularly in developing a skills strategy and creating targeted training programmes.
