Our motivated students  learned practical skills in rooftop solar installation at Solarcamp Oldenburg 2025, organized by Olegeno Oldenburger Energie-Genossenschaft eG, Janun e.V., and Students for Future Oldenburg.

PPRE students had the unique opportunity to participate in Solarcamp Oldenburg 2025, a hands-on workshop dedicated to rooftop photovoltaic (PV) installations. Organized by Olegeno Oldenburger Energie-Genossenschaft eG, Janun e.V., and Students for Future Oldenburg, the event provided both practical and technical learning experiences in renewable energy.

Participants learned how to install and connect PV modules, analyzed different panel layouts, performed financial assessments for residential PV systems, and received official certification as “Electrically trained persons” eligible to work for PV installation companies. Beyond technical skills, students practiced teamwork, improved technical German, and even assisted local renewable energy enthusiasts in extending their rooftop PV systems, directly contributing to local energy self-sufficiency.

The workshop fostered a friendly and collaborative environment where students could actively participate, exchange ideas, and develop practical skills in solar energy technology. As one participant noted, the camp was exceptionally well-organized and highly recommended for anyone interested in implementing their own rooftop PV system.
