At ForWind – Center for Wind Energy Research, innovation meets collaboration.
During the 5th annual ForWind Wind Physics Symposium in Oldenburg, researchers, students, and industry partners came together to share insights and discuss the future of wind energy research.
On September 29th, ForWind – Center for Wind Energy Research hosted the 5th annual Wind Physics Symposium at the WindLab on the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg’s Wechloy campus. The event featured three sessions where senior and junior researchers, along with partners from the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES) and various industry representatives, presented their ongoing projects and discussed current developments in wind energy research.
The symposium opened with a presentation by Professor Kerstin Avila, who provided an outlook on the first year of the joint research project Reallabor 70GW Offshore Wind. This project is part of the broader TEN.efzn (Transformation of Energy Systems in Lower Saxony) initiative coordinated by the Energy Research Center of Lower Saxony (efzn).
Attendees—from wind energy students and academic researchers to industry professionals—used the opportunity to gain deeper insights into ForWind’s research activities and to exchange ideas for future collaboration.
We thank all participants for their contributions and inspiring discussions—and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Oldenburg for the next ForWind Wind Physics Symposium.
