On November 8th, 2024, professor Joachim Peinke received a well deserved and fitting farewell from the ForWind WindLab with a symposium in his honor and an evening with good food and wine spent in the company of colleagues and friends. The talks and presentations reflected on the different stages of Joachim’s scientific career, as colleagues from all phases of his working life had come to Oldenburg to reminisce on his impact and legacy.

Current and former students, friends and companions as well as colleagues from various universities and research institutes were in attendance. It was a lively and emotional evening, as one of ForWind‘s founding fathers officially closed this chapter of his life, although he will go on supervising some PhD projects and is always welcome as an advisor, mentor and a guiding spirit for wind energy research in Oldenburg.
