Professional Development
Born in Quito, Ecuador, his bachelor degree was obtained at the National Polytechnic School in the same city, in a 5-year program at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, with specialization in Energy. His post-graduate studies were held at the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg, Germany, in the Postgraduate Programme Renewable Energies.
He has worked for both public and private sectors in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency. Experienced during his stay at the Laboratory of Alternative Energies and Energy Efficiency in research and academic activities, later went to work in the private sector developing engineering projects in the areas of renewable energy, such as photovoltaic and wind power plants, and energy efficiency consultancies for buildings, data centers, industrial plants and petroleum transportation.
He received a scholarship during his bachelor studies for academic excellence, graduated first place in the faculty of engineering, and received a scholarship from the DAAD to develop his post-graduate studies in PPRE.
For his master thesis, he analyzed of the demands of services of Energy Efficiency for the industrial sector of the State of São Paulo, in a cooperation project between the GIZ and SENAI-SP. He participated in consultancy for developing a strategic roadmap for the integration of renewable energies in India, as part of the “Indo – German Energy Program - Green Energy Corridors”. Fernando is working at the Cascade Use group since Oktober 2016.
