Invitation
Kick-off meeting Safe(r) Space FLINTA* in digital teaching
Dear students, dear lecturers,
We cordially invite you to the kick-off meeting Safer Space FLINTA* in digital teaching.
- When: 28 April 2026, 13:30 to 14:30
- Where: Learning Lab of the University of Oldenburg (intermediate level 4 BIS)
The aim of the first meeting is to get to know each other, document needs and collect ideas for the regular implementation of the Safer Space - if there is interest.
We look forward to your participation. It is not necessary to register for the meeting. For more information about Safer Space, you are welcome to join the Safer Space FLINTA* study group.
Stud.IP study group: Safer Space FLINTA* in digital teaching
Why are we organising this offer? FLINTA* people have a high level of expertise in the field of digitalisation and AI in university teaching. At the same time, the current state of research indicates a gender gap in access, usage behaviour and media skills.
What is the aim of the programme? With the Safer Space, FLINTA* people are offered a framework to network with each other and develop their own (critically reflected) attitude towards AI and digitalisation. The programme creates a protected space in which informal (self-)learning is possible and digital skills can be acquired, further developed and tested in practice in everyday university life. The aim is to create a space for empowerment in order to actively shape the digital transformation at the university. The Learning Lab at the University of Oldenburg is an open learning space that is open to the public. For our meeting, we use a separate but not completely closed area.
Who is FLINTA* aimed at? The programme is aimed at female and non-binary lecturers and students who want to exchange ideas in a safe and closed space and learn with and from each other. The abbreviation FLINTA* stands for: Women, Lesbian, Inter-, Non-binary, Trans and A-Gender people. The * at the end of FLINTA indicates that the list is not necessarily complete. Our programme sees itself as a solidarity-based, discrimination-sensitive space.
We look forward to receiving your registrations.
Best regards
Dr Beate Curdes (University Didactics) and Verena Honkomp-Wilkens (University Strategy Unit - Focus on Teaching)
Call for cooperation - We are looking for testers!
The extent to which a digital tool is suitable for use in university teaching should be tested in practice. We are therefore looking for teachers who would like to try out digital tools in their courses.
If the testers consider the tools to be suitable for use in university teaching and if they meet the necessary formal requirements, e.g. in terms of IT security, data protection and user-friendliness, they should - according to the project goal - be recommended and purchased for the entire DLHN network (= all universities in Lower Saxony).
If you would like to support us as a tool tester, please join our Stud.IP study group "Tool testing with InnoTools" study group. It serves to communicate with and inform interested teachers. We will contact you via the study group if tools can be tested.
Thank you for your co-operation!
The InnoTools team will be happy to answer any questions and provide information.

About the project
The sub-project "Discovering, testing and providing innovative teaching/learning tools" is part of the Digital Teaching Hub Lower Saxony, which was launched by Hochschule.digital Niedersachsen. The University of Oldenburg, Braunschweig University of Technology, Georg August University Göttingen, Leibniz University Hanover, Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and Arts and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences (sub-project leader) are working together to research, test and provide digital teaching and learning tools.
The envisaged goal at the end of the project on 30 September 2028 is to compile a criteria-based and curated selection of tools. The selection of tools will take place over the entire duration of the project in close cooperation with two other sub-projects of the Digital Teaching Hub Lower Saxony: "AI in studies, teaching & examinations" and "Co-operation of services in the field of digital teaching". The sub-projects are closely networked by staff at the University of Oldenburg and the partner universities. This allows existing synergies to be utilised and optimal solutions to be developed.
