Disability representative
As the disability counsellor at the University of Oldenburg, I work closely with various services at the university to improve studying and working conditions for students with disabilities.
One of my most important objectives is to ensure that
teaching at the university is also accessible to disabled students and prospective students.
Students and university teachers may contact me with any questions, suggestions or proposals.
Services
I can help disabled students and prospective students with:
- advice on issues concerning organizing studies around a disability and support measures
- general questions relevant to disability and university policy including accessibility
I can help university teachers with the following:
- implementation of support measures
- issues relating to accessibility in the teaching environment
My priorities
I am particularly concerned with implementing measures to improve accessibility throughout the university - including but not limited to building improvements.
We are currently working on establishing a list of priorities for building and renovation measures to make the university more accessible for people with disabilities, in collaboration with the disability advice service of the Student Administration and Social Welfare Organisation (Studentenwerk), the independent council for students with disabilities and other university institutions. This includes regular working group meetings to discuss and implement accessibility measures.
