Meves has once again been awarded a ‘Lower Saxony 65+ Professorship’. The expert in medieval German language and literature had already held this status for two years. With his proposal, he once again prevailed against a field of high-calibre candidates.

From 2012 to 2014, Meves continued his research project: ‘Nominations for the admission of Germanists to the Prussian Academy of Sciences (1826–1900): Introduction. Edition. Commentary’.

“The renewal of the Lower Saxony Professorship for Prof. Dr Uwe Meves is an impressive recognition of his research work. At the same time, it underlines the high reputation enjoyed by the Department of German Studies at the University of Oldenburg,” explained Prof. Dr Katharina Al-Shamery, then Vice-President for Research.
