The geographical acting region of the CBI comprises the Northern Dutch-German border (the Northern part of INTERREG VA Deutschland-Nederland). Specifically, the provinces of Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe and Overijssel from the Dutch side of the border and the Weser-Ems region from the German side (Wilhelmshaven, Wittmund, Aurich, Emden, Leer, Friesland Wesermarsch, Ammerland, Stadt Oldenburg, Oldenburg, Delmenhorst, Cloppenburg, Emsland, Vechta, Osnabrück, Stadt Osnabrück, and Grafschaft Bentheim). Thus, we call this the Northern Dutch-German cross-border region.
