A group of PPRE and EUREC alumni began taking action in the fall of 2021 to prepare a dedicated PPRE/EUREC club.

By today, over 700 students have become Alumni to the Renewable Energy Master Programmes in Oldenburg. The club is aiming to improve the current connection and increase exchange between Alumni, students and the PPRE/EUREC staff. The current mailing service is a great tool, but in today’s environment more efficient and comprehensive solutions are available. For that reason, we are voluntarily working on a dedicated PPRE/EUREC club. We consider this a great opportunity to utilize the great potential of our huge network.

Our main goal is to create a dedicated online network, which shall provide a space for discussions, international connections, virtual meetings, job boards, mentoring and more. At a later stage, an official alumni club will enable us as well to acquire sponsors and by that means support the Master’s programmes.

In November 2021 we had our very first kick-off meeting. We created a mind map to identify the club’s goals. You can see the result in the picture! In the upcoming weeks, we plan to get the new dedicated network running. In addition, we aim to get the club registered by German law, which will help us in receiving funding.

We are still at a very early stage, and encourage all PPRE/EUREC alumni to get involved. We meet approximately once per month via video conference. If you want to participate in the creation of this new PPRE/EUREC network or if you want to share any ideas, feel free to contact and join us. We are a group of enthusiastic alumni - it will be fun to collaborate!
