Five young women and eight young men began their training at the University of Oldenburg in August. "Training at the university offers exciting prospects in technology and administration," said Jörg Stahlmann, Vice President for Administration and Finance, at the official welcoming ceremony today. "Starting a career is one of the most important steps for teenagers and young adults. As one of the largest employers in the region, the university supports the apprentices in this step and prepares them for their academic appointments with in-depth training in workshops, laboratories and offices, for example."
This year, two precision mechanics, two systems electronics technicians, two chemical laboratory technicians, two IT specialists and two media and information services specialists are starting their training. The university is also training two gardeners and an animal keeper.
