Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships
"The tasks of universities are the cultivation and development of science through research, teaching, study and further education, the promotion of young academics and the transfer of knowledge and technology. Universities prepare students for academic appointments that require the application of scientific knowledge and methods." This is how the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act describes the range of tasks of its universities in Section 3.
In order for the responsible professors and academics to successfully fulfil these demanding requirements, the support of qualified and motivated technical and administrative staff is required. As part of a sustainable training concept, the University of Oldenburg is already endeavouring to recruit the employees of tomorrow. Many years of experience have shown this: The more intensively junior staff are familiarised with specific characteristics of a university, the more valuable they will be for a possible future role as part of the permanent staff.
The University of Oldenburg is currently training around 50 apprentices in the following professions:
Remuneration and working hours
The monthly training allowance for apprentices is currently:
| in the first year of training | 1,236.82 euros |
| in the second year of training | 1,290.96 euros |
| in the third year of training | 1,340.61 euros |
| in the fourth year of training | 1,409.51 euros |
Apprentices who are in a training relationship on 1 December are entitled to a special annual payment.
The weekly working time is 39.8 hours and the holiday entitlement is 30 days per year.
